anyone patching it out? is it worth a try?

my sister is using the patch and random sidenote: you would THINK that because its a new-ish product (versus the BandAid) that it would be produced in different flesh tones. but noooooooooo shes got this hideous 2" square on her shoulder blade.

i suppose clear ones would be way too much to ask?

I am! It's not so bad, except when I put it on my lower back and my shirt goes up...LOL.

You should give it a try!

I tried the patch. I never felt sick as a result of it, but I'll never go back to it simply because I have ultra-sensitive skin and it felt like someone was constantly holding a flame to my skin (at the patch-site). I thought I could tough it out and get used to it, but I gave up after three months. It took almost six more months for all the patch-site redness to completely go away. Never again!

yasmin = ocella

To all of those who have concerns about switching to the generic version of Yasmin, otherwise known as Ocella, I can ease some of your concerns. Ocella is made by Bayer, the same company that makes Yasmin. It is made the same way, with the exact same ingredients. The only difference is the packaging. I know some have stated that they've noticed nausea and other side effects. This could be due to a certain "placebo" effect. Basically, mind over matter. I began taking Ocella in place of Yasmin, and have not had any side effects.

I tried the patch and didn't like it. The adhesive is very finicky---either it doesn't last the whole week & falls off, or it REALLY sticks to you and is hard to get off after the week is over.

I got really sick for the time I used the patch, and I had never felt any symptoms when I was taking the pill.

Plus, since i'm on a budget (college grad, no job) it wasn't work paying the $40 a month when I could get my pills for $5 (and i haven't had problems with generic brand I have).

I don't believe you.

Old Navy is made by the same company that makes Banana Republic, but the quality is most assuredly not the same.

Through insurance, they make me go through their mail-order thing. Otherwise they make it more expensive to go and get it from the pharmacy. So when I order my Yasmin, they send me 3 months worth at a time. I haven't gotten anything saying I'm being switched to Ocella yet.

Does anyone know anything about this Yasmin/Yaz/Ocella lawsuit? It mentions gallbladder disease. I didn't know that birth control can affect your gallbladder. I had to have mine out last year because it wasn't functioning correctly. I'm curious if anyone has any info or experience with this lawsuit. Should I worry more now?

I haven't heard about this lawsuit, but I've been on Yasmin for almost 5 years now, and I had to get my gallbladder removed last year. The pain started just after I got the first HPV shot, and I linked it to that, as it was too coincidental that I got the shots and the pain started within the next few days. Now I'm wondering if it was due to my birth control...I'm definitely going to see what I can find out.

I've seen some commercials while watching the Wendy Williams Show with a law firm one can call, likely to enter into a class action law suit. I am sure you can google and find the firms that are finding people who have had problems.

That's what I did but all the sites really mention is the possible side effects. I don't see how they can correlate having your gallbladder out with birth control? I've heard that gallbladder removal was common. I have been on Yasmin/Ocella for about 6 years.

It isn't THAT common...and if a lot of people on any medication are having it done, that would definitely raise a red flag.

True. Maybe it seems more common now that I've had it done? It seemed like everyone I had run into had theirs out, old and young.

I'm on ocella and haven't had any trouble, but now I'm a little worried.

About the sickness thing, when I first started the pill my mother told me to take it at night because she always felt sick when she took it in the morning. Also try taking it with food it will probably hit your stomach better.

I think that's kind of like when you buy a new car and all of a sudden it seems like everyone on the road has the same model. You are just more aware of it than you used to be.
