Unless the writer who attended JMU was actually in an NPC sorority (do we know whether she was or not?) or otherwise had a reason to pay attention to which sororities favored which colors, I wouldn't assume that the mere fact she attended JMU (current Greek participation around 12%) means she is all that familiar with Zeta Tau Alpha's colors.

Karen Lutz (Legally Blonde screenplay author) is listed as a JMU Alpha Gam all over the internet, but she does not appear in the Directory or in the Accomplished Alpha Gams list.
Her MySpace also lists Alpha Gam: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endid=86907977

If she is 39, she was born in approx. 1969, which means she was 15 if she joined Alpha Gam at JMU in 1984. That makes no sense mathematically, unless she managed to graduate from college at 19.
Maybe it isn't her real name and that's why you can't find her in the directory...? It is one thing if other people are claiming her to be our sister, but she's claiming it herself (if that is her alleged MySpace profile).

In some places she's known as Karen McCullah Lutz. There's a Karen who pledged Gamma Mu in 1983, but only the first name matches up. The JMU.edu website lists Lutz' graduation year as 1988.
She could very well be lying about her age instead.
Maria posted an article in the AGD forum here when Legally Blonde came out: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=34753
I'm thinking she IS an Alpha Gam, but perhaps she doesn't appear anywhere because she's just not in good standing.

Honestly, if you stop me on the street and ask me what other org's colors are, I'd probably draw a blank for most.

Thanks. Interesting that she's so widely listed as an Alpha Gam, but she doesn't appear in the directory.
If she is indeed an Alpha Gam, then I would agree that (rather than having gone to JMU) would tend to support the idea that she might know or should know ZTA's colors.
But her tan scares me.
