No one expected her to make the US team this year, because instead of training, she was busy doing stuff like this:


Natalie Coughlin, Olympic Gold Medalist (2004), American Record Holder (100 meter freestyle) and World Record Holder (100 meter backstroke).


Dara Torres, Olympic Gold Medalist (1984, 1992, 2000) and American Record Holder (50 meter free). Cougar to the max.


ETA: I should also add that there are THREE former Gators on this year's team. World Record Holder Ryan Lochte, NCAA Record Holder Caroline Burkle, and American Record Holder (and 41-year-old) Dara Torres. GO GATORS!
