I totally agree... I have often thought as these 'provoked' stereotypes as a defense mechanism because it seems most GDIs have no idea how to react when they find someone who really doesnt fit the stereotype at all, because the fact of the matter is that we are just like them, except we excell at most things they cannot, have more fun in the process and pretty much always win out on the job market, because we have WAY more resources (and i like to think we are just plain better anyway )

So what's the theory if the creators and/or writers are Greek?
Negative outcomes aside, if this was intentional, they were clever and have received a great deal of publicity from Greekchat alone. I would've never heard of this movie without the 3 threads on GC. For every Greek who claims to boycott this movie, there will be Greeks and nonGreeks who see it out of curiosity or because they want a silly comedy.

Me either.
These "protests" never work.
Plus, Beverly D'Angelo is hot.

And that will trump this "protest" for many people.

I agree
This really reminds me of last summer around the same time when the previews of Greek the tv show were coming on. Every greek person I know was pissed about how it was portraying the stereotypes of Greek Life. People were writing letters to ABC Family and there was a plan to boycott the show. Then when it premiered everyone wanted to just see what it was about. Now it is a hit show soon to be in its third season and I know lots of Greeks who watch it every week like its greys anatomy or something.
Now on the other hand the makers of this movie could have at least changed the colors of the Zetas or something that wouldnt make it resemble ZTA. But on the positive side has anyone ever thought that there can be some good in this movie. The chapter is made up of all different types of girls, girls that aren't typically portrayed in movies about sororities, this could inspire more girls to go through recruitment that probably wouldn't have. Also the Zeta chapter in the movie gets a huge makeover and maybe in the end they become this kick ass chapter that everyone wants to join.

I agree and disagree.
In a perfect world, this would apply to all Greeks. But we all know that there are members/chapters in every GLO that don't apply to what you said, and actually feed into the negative stereotypes.
Just because a person goes Greek it doesn't mean they're automatically better than everyone else.
