haha, yes, SH Mrasek was just at our house visiting last month. The Theta national president is also from TU, so they usually will travel together. It's pretty exciting business, especially since I was a freshman. When she was living in our house as a young Chi O, she lived in what is now my suite. I feel special.

Convention Trivia

Currently, Chi Omega National Conventions are held biennially on even-numbered years (e.g., 2004, 2006, 2008). How many times was Convention held during an odd-numbered year?

a.) Never. Always even-numbered years since the first one in 1900.
b.) Once, in 1901, and they would have continued to be odd-numbered years except that the 1903 Convention, scheduled for St. Louis, was postponed a year to coincide with the World's Fair
c.) Once, in 1919, because of World War I
d.) It's only been since the 21st century began that even-numbered years were chosen.

Actually, the answer is B. A neat "factoid" since we're going back to St. Louis this year!

Well, it can't be a.) since we were having conventions in 1901, and it can't be b.) because the Eleusis has been in publication since 1899. And in a previous question (does it make me a huge dork that I found this?!) you stated that The Earth Mother was "presented at each Convention from 1912 through 1956". So by my amazing deductive reasoning skills, that leaves c.) Revelry!

Sure! This is completely useless information, but I thought it was sort of interesting.

How much water does the Chi Omega Fountain on the University of Kansas campus hold?

a.) 2,700 gallons
b.) 8,500 gallons
c.) 1,250 gallons
d.) No more than 6,724 gallons

Good guess, but it's a little more than 2,700 gallons. I found a pretty picture of it here...http://pics4.city-data.com/cpicc/cfiles21882.jpg.

AZXO, I love that question!

I found this after I guessed....

"A campus landmark since 1955, the Chi Omega fountain holds 8,500 gallons of water."

That is a beautiful fountain...

About how much has Chi Omega raised for Make-A-Wish since adopting it as the national phiilanthropy?
A) $1,000,000
B) $5,000,000
C) $1,500,000
D) $2,000,000

For bonus points (I'm assuming this is like Who's Line, where the points don't matter), what year did Chi Omega adopt MAW, and how much does it cost to grant a wish on average?

Ooh, I know this one! Ha ha, we did a fun facts about MAW during recruitment last year and learned all this stuff. I know that in 2006 we'd raised over $2,000,000, but it's been a couple years since then so I'm going to be optimistic and say B. It's been the official philanthropy of Chi Omega since 2002, and I think the average is about $6,500.

Our chapter granted a wish for a little girl named McKenzie a couple years ago who had a seizure disorder, she was the most prescious thing ever! And we raised enough last spring with Songfest to grant another one this year!

I'm going to try to find another question to ask, I feel like I'm taking over this thread

Here's a good one...

How many Chi Omega collegiate chapters have initiated over 3,000 members?

a.) none (no way...that's crazy high)
b.) only one (Psi, University of Arkansas)
c.) seven (and many more are close to 3,000)
d.) sixty-two (face it, we're big)
