It is just ignorant.

Someone should call the school officials and tell them that one of their kids was killed in a car accident.

Being a teacher, that is a tactic that I would never let come into my classroom....I would probably resign before I let that happen....

I have lost friends who were too young to die, and I would never want anyone to go through those feelings of agony, even if it a charade.
