Portrayal of George W. Bush in international advertisements

My aunt brought this site to my attention. HILARIOUS!

George W. Bush is undoubtedly one of the most popular figures of current times. He's infamous for many things he misspoke and his views on how to handle national security. His ideology affected not only the United States, but the whole world in a major way. No wonder he's been on top of mind for many creatives and became the hero of numerous advertisements in the last few years.

Here is a collection of some of the most interesting ads that dissect his character in order to sell an idea or a product. You be the judge whether they are successful in achieving this objective.

Regardless of what Americans think about the POTUS and other aspects of America, it is a dangerous thing to be humored or celebrate when other countries take jabs or create advertisements at our expense.

And, yes, when it boils down to it, it is at our expense because he was voted as our POTUS. Such jabs at other countries' leaders by Americans wouldn't be received so well by them.

That isn't the point. I said it wouldn't be so well received by them.

ETA: Meaning, I wonder how many of them would be like "haha...look at what Americans are saying about our leader!!! It's a riot!"

I gotcha. In my experience, it depends on the person's humor. Public leaders place themselves in a position of scrutiny, so I don't mind finding humor at their silliness regardless of who is calling them out on it. Some of the ads on that site were funny, in my opinion. Some were, "oh snap." Others were lame.

Many of the ads are former headquartered US companies--like Lipton et al. Regardless, no large corporations should be making any adds against Bush since he had given them free reign and lack of taxes to OUR country.

If other countries want to criticize, then call him on how he are helped the people? Gas prices? Mortgage mess? Disaster preparedness? Be accurate!

He is still our "selected" representative to the rest of the world. That is why in 2008 voter education is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!

Need I say 01.20.2009 will be a different day...

In Germany a couple years ago there was a poster for the Green Party (I think) that had Bush's face repetitively all over the poster. It said "Give Cloning No Chance."
