There will certainly be calls to shut down the system.

It could happen, I suppose.

I wonder how much effect this will have on other campuses across the country, and whether there will be other sweeping investigations elsewhere -- and dread what some might find.

From what I have seen posted on GC, seem as if TPTB are starting to not only look at RM issues harder but acting on them as well.

I agree with your thoughts DA, more is coming down the road.

I do not think shutting down the Greek system will happen. From what I read in a previous response, SDSU have a lot of Alumni supporters that are greek. The worst that could happen is that the six fraternities involved would be either placed on probation or suspension depending on the internal investigation by both the university and their IHQ. However, this situation can cause many School Adminsrtators to carefully look at their Greek System under a microscope.
