Since people aren't ignoring this Wright-Obama nonsense yet, Obama vent ahead:

Obama's still playing the game. Figuratively sweating bullets and acting nervous. Letting these people make him think that he has to denounce his pastor.

Is he going to issue a disclaimer next telling the white people, who are afraid of what will happen if he is elected, that he's NOT going to "revenge slavery if he's elected to office?" Yes, there are whites who think this just like there are men (particularly white males) who think Clinton is going to revenge women if she's elected.

How about, is Obama next going to take back his comment about turning the White House bowling alley into a basketball court if he's elected? You know, that comment had to have made some people nervous and will be used by some to say "Obama's change isn't the kind of change we need...we don't want fish fries at the White House."

Oh well, I agree with Rev. Wright's comments and he has my endorsement for whatever he's running for right now. If he isn't running for anything then I need him to get back behind the pulpit and get his butt out of the political realm for a while.

I take this back.

Obama had to denounce Wright and respond to what Wright said about Obama specifically. Obama admitted that he didn't know Wright as well as he thought he did and wasn't as close as he thought.

While I agree with the viewpoints that Wright initially expressed, he is doing too much. He has way too much experience and education to NOT know what impact his actions from this point on (not just what he said behind the pulpit) can have on the Obama campaign. He also knows about race and America so, unless he's being paid by the Clintons or the Repubs, he needs to have a seat. Not go into hiding or take back everything he said behind the pulpit about race and this country, but have a seat on that other nonsense.

I am really saddened by the turn of events. Rev . Wright really had a chance to turn the legitmate media around and also blount Fox News and the attacks of right-wing radio. Instead, he played right into their hands with the foolishness of that Q & A session. There is a time to berate the American Govt and espouse conspiracy theories, and even to praise Farakhan, but not at the expense of the hopes of the Black community and its chance of a Black president. You have to be smarter than to play into the hands of the enemy. Black folks may have been laughing and applauding, but Americas puppetmasters were dancing a jig.

Black folks who can think beyond their asses weren't really laughing and applauding, though.

Tom Joyner talked about Wright again today and was shaking his head at Wright throwing up the hooks and acting a fool. Wright gets props for being influential in Chicago and other places. That's not forgotten. But his image is overshadowing his hard work and now he's no better than those flashy Cleflo Dollar-type pastors, as far as I'm concerned.

Rev. Wright is who he is. The media creates and perpetuates images of people. The "image" that many in America have of Jeremiah Wright was created by the media, not Jeremiah Wright. Having been quoted and interviewed by the media at least twice that I can think of, I know that neither time did what come out of my mouth end up being presented to the public because of editing and ultimately the image the editor was trying to propogate.

As for Tom Joyner, I love him to death, but I think he's wrong on this. I don't view Rev. Wright as acting like a fool. While I support Barack 1000%, what's going on with his reverend is nothing more than the media trying to juxtapose this black man with someone who they have labeled and cast as an extremist, racist, "Anti-American", etc. The psychological objective of this must be to undermine all of these "good" white folk who are beginning to think they can identify with him and that his message resonates with them.

This is all a game. If it weren't Jeremiah, it would be something else - this is the black tax. First they were trying to tie him to Islam in hopes of scaring people into thinking that he might have some tie to "radical Islam". Then they tried to tie him to Farrakhan and when he admitted his longstanding Christian faith, then it became Jeremiah Wright. Barack knows in his heart that what the man is saying is true and needs to be said if this country is going to stand a chance, but if he wants to be president and assuage the "good" white folk, then he'd better create distance and denouce his spiritual mentor/teacher and friend. This is merely another example of the price necessary to be paid for anyone black who truly aspires to greatness outside of the entertainment world in this country - you must be ready, willing and able to sell your soul as Barack is unfortunately doing.

Oh Wright isn't completely innocent in this. If people are truly smart enough to know the game, that means they know how to play it.

He was getting props for being a keep it real pastor and he milked it for everything that it's worth. I hope it was worth whatever the outcome is.
