State Flags

I love the Rhode Island flag...I don't live there..but I love it. I'm a DG so I think the reason is obvious!

I think that the NAACP has usually gone after the Battle Flag (and state flags that include it -- the old Georgia flag and Mississippi), not the Stars and Bars.

The proportions are wrong on that one, though -- they match the old statutory discription proportion-wise; the legal description was changed a few decades ago to match the way the flag was made in actual practice. The proper proportions are like this:



Personally, though, I prefer the original (pre-1885) version of the flag:



I wish that in 1885 they had just changed the bottom date and otherwise left the flag alone.

I really have to stop posting late at night....I do know better than crossing the Stars and Bars with the Battle Flag.
