I think my folks (conservatives) need to give up the inexperience thing and the muslim-ties thing. There are plenty of other things we can go after Obama on.

I completely agree about the Muslim ties things: it just seems stupid and ignorant.
But the inexperience thing seems a whole lot more valid to me. I wouldn't put them both in the same category.
Obama as a person makes a favorable impression on me. It's only when you look at his actual record that he's problematic: first because it's a little insubstantial (although H. Clinton's isn't much better) then because he's been much more liberal in some areas than I think any conservative would want (as have been both Hillary and McCain, but McCain emerges as the most conservative of three)

Experience is a reasonable discussion, I just thing we're focusing too much on this. Lets talk about Obama, the liberal, whose beliefs are at fundamental odds with millions and millions of Americans.

And, polls are showing that they think Clinton is more experienced, but they're still voting for Obama, so at least among Democrats experience won't convince them to switch their vote.

I think most conservatives don't think he's conservative enough, but what are their choices?
I think that's what I was trying to get at with my statement of the obvious.
I wonder if we weren't in Iraq if a lot of conservative voters would just stay home.

You mean, you wonder if either Edwards or Clinton could get people to the polls vs. McCain?
I like Edwards much less than Obama, but I'm not particularly likely to vote for either.
I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you meant.

if people would be paying this much attention to the election if edwards was in instead of Obama.
