I hated the first one, but this one looks like it might be good....Of course the first one looked like it was going to be good too, but then I just ended up feeling dirty because of the pedophilic faun.

I liked the first one, but based on everything I've read about Prince Caspian, the trailers, etc. and the fact the children are older, more mature, I think this one is going to be much better. Almost seems like someone could watch it with no prior knowledge of the first one or the books and still enjoy it. The battle scenes look stellar.

Even the book was pretty good about filling you in on the info you missed in LWW if you hadn't read it. You might not get why people are quite so stirred up by whispers of Aslan and the Kings and Queens, but you can certainly follow the plot and fill in the rest as you go.

I liked this movie, but not as much as the first one!
The thing I didn't like was the fact that it really differed from the book some, including a whole new battle scene from what I recall...
Also there seemed to be a lot less of Aslan than was in the book!
The thing I love about the first one was that they stuck to the book, but this one seemed to differ some.

Seeing as how I didn't read the book, it didn't bother me. I still liked the movie, it wasn't as good as the first one though.
Now, my friend read the book and throughout the movie kept telling me "they butchered the book....see this? It didn't happen in the book." So she ended up not really liking the movie.

I totally agree. Overall I liked it, but didn't think it was as good as the first - mostly because of the places where it deviated from the book. I did like the actor playing Prince Caspian though. I still do have high hopes for Voyage of the Dawn Treader!
SPOILER ALERT
I really hated the Susan/Caspian relationship. It wasn't as bad as it could have been or as most 'teen movies' might have made it, but it was unnecessary and contrary to the idea of the books. It really annoyed me.

That battle is actually mentioned in the book; it just occurs before the Pevensies meet Caspian. My major concern is that making Peter in charge of it and the other changes in the Peter/ Caspian relationship makes Peter look like a real jerk. I think that characterization change kinda makes what happens in The Last Battle problematic.
And really, I just wanted to throw my soda at the screen during the whole Susan/ Caspian scene.
I will admit I was afraid it might be much worse, though. Reepicheep was dead on, and there were many scenes directly lifting dialog from the book.
