Hey Billy,

Don't feel too bad. If the TV did it once, it will happen again and then more frequently. There's some kind of component inside that will break down as the TV gets hot. And, knowing our old friend Mr. Murphy and his law, it will probably be an expensive one.

One word of caution. If you decide to take that saw to it again, unplug the TV set first. There's a lot of high power inside, and I assume you would rather kill the TV than yourself.

Actually, as I think of it, even if the set is unplugged, there is still a lot of high voltage sitting around in components like capacitors that hold their charge. Maybe you should just put it outside and let it freeze to death or something.
