southernbelleQT, the very best recruitment thread for USC was deleted by the original poster. It is every bit as competitive as an SEC recruitment - have the recs, the right look, the right sparkle, and the right attitude. You could probably read any of the SEC rush threads, and get a good idea about what to expect.

While it has similarities to the SEC, USC will be different in some ways. For instance, dress will be different. Not many Lilly P. dresses worn in Calif...I had no idea what they were until some gals on here started posting links and photos. In general, Calif. tends to dress on the trendy side (designer jeans and heels) instead of floral sundresses with pearls. Pearls might come out at preference, but not much before then. Dress classy, but with a fun or funky twist...if that makes sense.

Peppy, I think honeychile is talking about South Carolina!

I'd never heard of Lily P either til I saw it here!

No, honeychile is talking about Southern California. She said it is as competitive as an SEC school. South Carolina is an SEC school. I think the point she was trying to make was like SEC schools, it is more important to have recs at Southern California than at other West Coast schools.

USC=Southern California. When you hear analysts on ESPN talking about "USC" there is no question in anyone's mind which USC they mean. Trojans.

I agree with this.

Those in the SEC often like to think that when saying 'USC,' it's in reference to their 'Cocks.

USC is Southern California. South Carolina is South Carolina.

I will agree, but it can be confusing when you're in the South & hear USC.

However...not nearly as confusing as OSU. Ohio State? Oklahoma State? Oregon State?

Yeah, true...BUT...if South Carolina had a decent football program, it might be a tad more confusing!

You are correct, violetpretty. I freely admit I'm absolutely clueless about anything in the SEC. I couldn't even name all the schools in the SEC!!
One of my son's friends just had an audition with the music program there last week! She's a sweetheart, so I hope it works out for her, but I don't know if she'll rush. The music dept is pretty time consuming from what I understand!

Yeah, big ditto! I looked it up, though:

Alabama Georgia Mississippi State Arkansas Kentucky South Carolina Auburn LSU Tennessee Florida Mississippi Vanderbilt
Feel free to correct me if that's wrong!

Oh, you'd be just as happy in the ridiculously expensive jeans we So Cal girls are addicted to! It's all about the sunglasses, the bag and the bling!
