I'm vegetarian. It was a gradual process. Part of it was due to the ideals- helping the planet, animal rights, and so on. And part of it was for health reasons- any more details beyond this would be TMI.

As AKA Monet said, do not go cold turkey. Remove meats gradually- like one per year.
