The sorority, which closed its Duke chapter in 1970, has just been adopted by the local Theta Beta Sigma sorority. The Office of Student Affairs and the Panhellenic Council approved the new affiliation this week.
Eight University women founded Theta Beta Sigma in April 1992 with the goal of becoming affiliated with a national sorority. Since the sorority's inception, members worked to increase numbers and achieve financial stability.
Panhel voted last fall to permit the sorority to begin seeking a national affiliation.... [Full article at link]

Interesting...I never knew any local sororities existed at Duke (of course, this particular one was founded 5 years after I left campus).
It doesn't seem possible that the affiliation with Alpha Phi was approved in 1994 and it took 9 years for the new chapter to be installed, does it?

No, that isn't what happened. I don't know when they were installed, but it was a normal length of time.

It could have been that the Theta Beta Sigma/Alpha Phi colony flopped and was never installed and they gave it a second try in 2003. ASA had a colony like that too, I forget where.

When I was at Duke from 1996 to 2000 there was an Alphi Phi chapter. They recolonized in 2003, but they closed and recolonized (not sure what that is called) all in the same school year.

More results from Baylor University were obtained courtesy of Kitemom.
Apparently at Baylor junior pnms are not counted as part of quota. A group may or may not choose to take juniors. Quota was 49.

Chi Omega 49

We used to, but not anymore.
KD and Chi-O are the other two off that list.
(I have no clue how either did, FTR.)
