Recruitment Results

Winter NPC recruitment is completed at some of the universities. Duke, Vanderbilt, SMU, Spring Hill, Villanova, Loyola/Marymount, Northwestern, Butler, Furman and Lehigh chapters have new member classes. University of Richmond, Cornell and University of Virginia have their new pledge classes as well. Does anyone have recruitment numbers from these universities?

Hope AOII is able to get those numbers up through informal.

Wow, I'm shocked by the low AOPi # at Duke -- they were a very strong group when I was there (granted, that was 20+ years ago). Like the previous poster, I also hope they can add to their new member class via informal recruitment.

Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt Tri-Deltas pledged 50. They are excited that eleven of the new Deltas are legacies.

Kappa Delta at Vanderbilt pledged 50 + 1 with 7 legacies

I'm pretty sure Alpha Phi is correct at Duke.

I'm not sure if this is accurate, but according to a 1994 Duke Chronicle article: http://media.www.dukechronicle.com/m...-1438053.shtml

Alpha Phi is back on campus.

The sorority, which closed its Duke chapter in 1970, has just been adopted by the local Theta Beta Sigma sorority. The Office of Student Affairs and the Panhellenic Council approved the new affiliation this week.

Eight University women founded Theta Beta Sigma in April 1992 with the goal of becoming affiliated with a national sorority. Since the sorority's inception, members worked to increase numbers and achieve financial stability.

Panhel voted last fall to permit the sorority to begin seeking a national affiliation.... [Full article at link]

Kappa Kappa Gamma at Vanderbilt pledged 51 with 3 legacies (I am told quota was 46).

Quota was 34 at Washington and Lee University. All 5 NPC orgs achieved quota (one through snap bids) and 3 got quota plus. This is a school that pretty much only bids freshmen and there are only about 225 women in the freshman class.

Is there a way to find out what a friend's child pledged at Furman, before I call her/send a gift?

Interesting...I never knew any local sororities existed at Duke (of course, this particular one was founded 5 years after I left campus).

It doesn't seem possible that the affiliation with Alpha Phi was approved in 1994 and it took 9 years for the new chapter to be installed, does it?

This is an extremely greek school and all of the sororities have beautiful houses together. The university has done a great job of promoting greek unity and is extremely supportive of the greek system as a whole.
