I agree and LOL @ "breeders."

Wow! I am really sorry for what you are going through. I've been through something similar you can read it here: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...olorfulcre8ion
But anyway, I hope that you get the support you need. Remember why you wanted to join your organization and keep those goals in mine.
Something that I always remember and hold true to... YOUR LOYALTY FALLS TOWARDS THE ORGANIZATION AND NOT THE MEMBERS!
Stay postive

That is so self centered. Not having any loyalty to you fellow brothers or sisters is completely ridiculous.

It's not self-centered at all if you understand (or at least try to understand) the cultural differences between your type of fraternity and her type of sorority.

That and the "organization superceeds individual members" mentality does not mean that you don't bond with other members. It means that we are not disillusioned if a chapter or other type of experience with members is negative. Out of thousands of members, a few don't stop the party.

^^^ Exactly. And it's something I deal with even now. Being an active member is not easy and not always fun, being gay aside. (And not even usually an issue)

One of my best friends was in a fraternity and he is gay. He told me not to tell any of his brothers, who I am also friends with. I was absolutely discreet. We were at a party one night and one of the newer brothers said, "so are you going home with (gay friend's name) tonight?" and we all laughed and said yes. Later that night, one of the older brothers took me aside and discreetly told me that I'm a very nice girl, but my friend is gay.
Turns out, his pledge class and many of his brothers already knew he is gay. And they had absolutely NO problem with it whatsoever. My friend didn't even know they knew! They just assumed that he would tell them whenever he was ready and was/is always accepting of that fact. However, I'm not sure where you go to school/what your campus is like, so I can't really tell you anything about that.
Like many other people have said, live your life. That is what it is, YOUR life.
