My bad. It was another celebrity, who is a good friend of Annette Funicello's, and even
her early drug abuse is 50/50 - she won't state a definite yes or no, even after suffering a somewhat defining drug abuse illness.

When I was in middle- and high school, I knew a lot of theatre people. Quite a few of their parents introduced them to speed, so they could handle stage shows AND still be at school. Looking back, I'm amazed at how young some of these girls were - maybe nine or ten years old.
But you're right - in many circles, it's almost impossible to avoid contact with drugs or alcohol, even at an early age. Plus, you have a generation of parents who can't say that they never inhaled (honestly, at least).
