We had a reunion weekend last fall, and my boyfriend went because he knew I had really put a lot into planning it and it meant a lot to me. He was really the only guy there the whole weekend except for a sister's boyfriend who was probably 15 years younger than him. Believe it or not, they hit it off and amused each other quite well.
Yes it may not be his cup of tea, but one night will not kill him! He might be surprised at how much fun he has!!
p.s. however, DO NOT take significant others to homecoming unless they went to school there. If your homecoming is 1/4 as crazy as mine, that is a disaster waiting to happen.
