Along with the crocs (mentioned many times previously) and the sweater vests, I have to go with the appliqued holiday sweaters. I hate those. They look very school marm/ soccer mom/ old southern lady with too much money and not enough fashion sense.

I was watching Style last night for the 25 Essentials...#15 was a Designer Bag. The commentator said, and I (semi)quote - You can look good wearing a trash bag as long as you're carrying a designer purse. I definitely wear my brown and gold Speedy with darn near every color in the rainbow, lol.

I got nauseous at the sight of holiday clothes this past weekend. I've always hated those. They only look good when you're teaching pre-K or primary school.

I will never wear . . .

-fake designer bags. Don't kid yourself - 95% of the time, we can tell. I always used to carry Coach Willis bags - refined, well-made, low-key - but am so tired now of the loud, obnoxious knock-offs.

- low rise jeans. Ye gods - even sweet little things look tacky in those. I don't want to see ANYONE's butt crack or the top of your underwear, thong or no.

-thong - spent my whole life as a dancer trying to keep my leotard from doing THAT.

bikini - four children later, the belly says "no".

spandex - fun in the 80s, now not so much.

But...
But...
I LIKE my snowman sweater...
It makes me happy to wear it.

Or at least it used to...

It's what makes YOU happy that counts! Me personally, I couldn't see myself wearing them. But as long as you love it (and don't take it overboard, like say, one for every day, 20 for each season, etc.), then go for it.

Thanks, scbelle! And no, no, just the one sweater and just the one holiday. Although I do have a cute snowman turtleneck I sometimes wear with it... too much?

Oo, no, but I bet I could sew one on! Then I could jingle-jangle my way all through the holidays! Great thought, thanks, Benz!

OMG!!! I just got a BD Card that plays the Chicken Dance. I bet we could hook up a Jingle Bells tune to your shirt.

I have a boiled wool jacket with holly embroidered on it. Does that pass the muster?

As for the Second Hand Shop Fashions, we used to have mixers where everyone had to wear something from such a store, then we'd donate everything back again. Probably the only mixer where everyone did their best to keep things looking nice!
