This "johnny-come-lately" Georgia fan already knew all about the Battle for the Beer Barrel. Any decent Southerner needs to learn about all of the rivalries in the SEC, IMO... 
This weekend, we have our own little rivalry, a little thing we like to call Clean, Old Fashioned Hate with Georgia Tech.

Could not sleep last night. Kickoff's at 4PM HST.
Black Friday + big game = traffic nightmare getting in and out of the neighborhood.
Maybe KR will see me on TV again! ESPN seems to love me!

Thank you. The trophy for the Kentucky / Tennessee football game was The Beer Barrel. It was a blue, white and orange beer keg. The game was often referred to as the Battle for the Beer Barrel.
I can't believe I had to go there to find the write up, but I found this at the Tennessee Athletic site. (I now need a shower.)
