I am so thrilled that WVU is ranked above all of the Florida schools this year. Darn, why couldn't they have been this good when I was going to school there!

All TN has to do is lose to KY and they won't go. That's pretty major...
Go DAWGS!

and quite possible! It's been a rocky (pun intended) road for Vols fans this season, but our team DID look good against UGA, so it shouldn't be a surprise that your Dawgs aren't sailing into the championship game.

Let's not forget that UGA beat FL this year, TN did not, and KY beat the number one ranked team in the nation, LSU. UGA has a VERY good chance of going to the SEC....

Lloyd Carr alternately choked up and chuckled for nearly 40 minutes Monday as he announced his 13th season as Michigan football coach will be his last.

I posted it as a sports/news story.
There does seem to be, as per other stories, some "intrigue" over where he is going and who will replace him.

I still don't understand why people are being so hard on Loyd. I'm not familiar with Bo's records but I read somewhere that he, too, lost to OSU 4 years straight in a row.

Actually, I love Lloyd Carr and I went to OSU. His interviews are priceless!
Best of luck to him.

LOVE the picture, TSteven!
(You might want to explain the history for some of these Georgia (johnny-come-lately Kentucky) fans!

Thank you. The trophy for the Kentucky / Tennessee football game was The Beer Barrel. It was a blue, white and orange beer keg. The game was often referred to as the Battle for the Beer Barrel.
I can't believe I had to go there to find the write up, but I found this at the Tennessee Athletic site. (I now need a shower.)
Quote:
"The original Battle for the Beer Barrel was conceived in 1925 by a Kentucky booster club for the football rivalry with Tennessee, so that the series would have a trophy similar to Purdue’s Old Oaken Bucket and Michigan’s Little Brown Jug. The first game played kept the barrel in Lexington, a 23-20 win for the Wildcats. The barrel exchanged hands numerous times, both at games and during raids on the opposing school’s campus. Tennessee held a 60-23-9 edge in the series with Kentucky when the Beer Barrel trophy game was discontinued due to the tragic deaths of several Kentucky football players in 1997 in an alcohol-related car crash."
