Honeychile, back in the "day" (the 70's), Iota Alpha Pi was considered a Jewish sorority. That is the most likely reason it did not consider a merger with ADPi or any other sorority. They had a few chapters in common with SDT, AEPhi, DPhiE and Phi Sigma Sigma, which were also considered historically Jewish sororities at that time. I don't know why they did not consider approaching any of us about merging. Is there an IAPi alum out there who can give us a clue?

I didn't think it was my place to say that. I can remember seeing one of their pins on ebay - it was diamond shaped with a "shadow" diamond in azure blue <<>. Seemed to be a lead pipe cinch - until I discovered the "why"!

Paula,
My only guess would be that the majority of their chapters were at a school that had at least one if not more of the above mentioned GLO's and instead of having a ton of new chapters it would have been a lot of the merging of the chapters which would have been harder?
