bumping to see if anyone else has seen previews for Patricia Cornwells book of the dead. It comes out on 10/23, and i've liked her other books, but I havent been able to find reviews of it.

I love Patricia Cornwell. I had not heard that she has a new book coming out soon. I will be interested to hear about it.

Patricia Cornwell has a "Book of the Dead"? I read Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child's "Book of the Dead" last month. Interesting - and it was so good!
I'm about to finish Ken Follett's sequel to "The Pillars of the Earth" - "World Without End". Follett amazes me with his ability to write well in so many eras (and what a grey-haired fox!).

I finished "The Pact" by Jodi Picoult and "Louder than Words" by Jenny McCarthy. The first was great but not as great as I'd hoped and the second was much better than I though it would be. Right now, I'm bouncing between "Wicked" and "The Husband."

You should try "My sister's keeper" by Jodi Picoult. Overall, a great read. It could be that I liked it better than the Pact because I work in a hospital.

It took me awhile to try the Jodi Picoult novels. Once I did, I was hooked. I even convinced my sister-in-law (who doesn't read often) to read My Sister's Keeper. She loved it.
Now to check out more about Patricia Cornwell and her GMA interview.

I read that one last year. In fact, I think I finished it in like a day and a half. I liked it better than The Pact as well. I think I'll try 17 Minutes, 19 Minutes, whatever this newer one is.

Yeah it looks really good, she was on Good Morning America this morning and let out a pretty big spoiler. I won't say anything but i'm sure if you look around the internets you'll be able to find it.

So I'm trying to catch up on Jane Green. (Yes, I know I'm a little late.) I just finished up Jemima J and it was a little too obscene for my taste. Are her other books similar in nature?

Here is my list of recent and former "Chick-Lit" books that I've read or plan on reading that haven't been listed yet.
Obviously I LOVE the Shopaholic series! Don't forget Shopaholic and Baby!
Meg Cabot has a great mystery series out....the Heather Wells series. It includes the books Size 12 is Not Fat, Size 14 is Not Fat Either, and Big Boned. She also has the Queen of Babble series: Queen of Babble and Queen of Babble in the Big City. Queen of Babble Gets Hitched comes out in June 08!
Wendy Markham has another great series called the Slightly series. Slightly Single, Slightly Settled, Slighty Engaged, Slightly Married. All fantastic books! According to her website, Slightly Suburban is coming out in July 2008! I've also read Mike, Mike, and Me. Very good also!
Jane Green is fantastic and unfortunately I haven't read ALL of her books but I do enjoy them. The Other Woman, To Have and To Hold are great too.
Sophie Kinsella, author of the Shopaholic series, also has The Undomestic Goddess and it looks like she's coming out with another book Remember Me this month.
Emily Giffin wrote the Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and Baby Proof books!
Kirsten Sawyer wrote Not Quite a Bride which I'm currently reading and enjoying! She also has Not Quite a Mom.
My mom went and bought a whole bunch of "Bride" books when I got engaged for me to read. I'll have to keep digging for more great books that I've read, but I figure this list will help some of you out for those "Summer Reading Lists" that I hear so much about. ENJOY!!!

Ok so I am late to the book party, but of late I have read:
Twlight, New Moon and Eclipse - all by Stephenie Meyer GREAT BOOKS!!!! Twilight was recommended by one of my students and then another of my friends who is an English teacher told me to read it too...loved all three.
Steve and Me - the book by Terri Irwin about her and Steve(the croc hunter), also liked that very much.
I too enjoyed My Sister's Keeper. Plain Truth by J. Picoult was great as well.
Starting on the Kite Runner (way behind I know)
Read Thirteen Moons by Charles Frazier - good book, a little slow in parts. Well written.

The last book I read was World War Z by Max Brooks. I’m currently reading Nick Flynn's Another Bullshit Night in Suck City and after that I'll be picking up a copy of The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
