I'm an Exec. Asst (to the head of Comp & Benefits) at MasterCard HQ. The people are great, the benefits are great, and we meet fun people from our commercials - like Payton Manning.
But I'm maternity leave right now so I'm working 24/7!
I work as a university Academic Adviser. I see all kinds of students regarding their class schedules, academic probation, changing majors, etc. I also advise a good percentage of our military students (cadets, midshipmen & officer candidates). Finally, it's not a major part of my job; but I do teach one section of "freshman seminar" for our new students.
I'm on my second career. This one is IT.. Systems Analyst/Network Administrator for a biostatistics and research epidemiology department. So, I do help desk support for everybody in the department, hardware and software installs/repairs/troubleshooting and total server installation/maintenance for the department. We currently have 130 desktop/laptop devices and 12 servers. I have been doing this for 7 1/2 years now. It's the longest I've ever stayed at one job.
For the first 13 years post college, I was an Occupational Therapist on mental health units, primary children/adolescents but I worked for a few years on adult psych units too.
I'm getting antsy with my job now.. ready for some kind of change, but I don't know yet. I have to really think about what I want to do next.
