Okay so apparently quota was 84, but here is what I don't understand. All the sororities got at least 86 or more.

AOII made quota plus for a total of 89! The new release system worked very well for all of the houses! I know all 9 sororities should be very proud!

ETA: I just found out I was mis-informed yesterday at the house. Quota was 84, not 77....so that makes more sense!

Just out of curiosity......how many/what percentage of pnms who went to at least one pref party did NOT get bids?

How many dropped out earlier in the week?

I had a long discussion with an Alabama alum yesterday about the differences between Bama, AU and Ole Miss rushes...we were pondering which was the most brutal.....

Gee, I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for that!
I'd say Ole Miss's is more brutal...fewer sororities to pledge 'em.
I'd still rather see more sororities and fewer pledges per sorority. Don't guess that will ever happen, though.

Frankly, I think Auburn takes the brutality-cake! Ole Miss is probably next and Alabama last, Bama has more sororities and they guarantee bids if you go to 3 prefs (or if you maximize your options......)

Don't know anything about LSU or GA, they might be worse than Auburn....of course there are so many factors that go into whether or not rush is "brutal," e.g., did the pnm effectively "cut herself" out of rush....that is a whole nother can of worms!

2 New House on Campus?

The story in Oxford this weekend is that 2 new sororities are coming to Ole Miss. ADpi is coming back and another new one. They will bid on
the current houses and the smaller white houses on sorority row are being torn down and 2 new houses will be built on this property. The chapters
in the smaller white houses are getting new houses on campus. I was
told this by several different alums. Anyone know the story?????

I think an important factor in determining whether a campus is "brutal" is by the number/percent of women released from recruitment (how many cut from all chapters NOT how many drop out). If there are a lot of women being cross-released (for seemingly "no reason", not for grades), that's a powerful argument for extension.

Congratulations to Nu Beta on such an awesome recruitement! Wow....89 new members, that's the size of a medium chapter! Amazing!
