Do the 'top tier' sororities usually have parties and mixers with the 'top tier' fraternaties? And the bottom, least popular frats and sorority groups do get togethers?

Here's what I think is going on...she already said that her boyfriend is in a fraternity. So either:

He WANTS her to join a sorority, and she's here looking for excuses not to.

OR:

She wants to join a sorority and he doesn't want her to, so she's looking for people to tell her (so she can tell him, because she obviously believes that hearsay is proof beyond a shadow of a doubt) these things (hazing, wild parties, CIRCLE THE FAT) DON'T happen so she can convince him of it.

Everyone wants to be in a bottom sorority on my campus. This is because they always get the mixers with the top fraternities. It is kind of like the NBA draft. If you finish last in the league, you get the first pick in the draft.

After the mixer is over, they bottom girls and the top men get together to raid the school cafeteria and circled the fat on all of the meat in the refrigerator.

The term "top tier" seems to be exclusive to GC.

To answer honestly, the fraternities and sororities have officers who plan social events with one another. They create social calendars based on who the majority of members are interested with mixing with and if the other group shares that interest.
