I'm so confused!!

Recruitment thread!!!! Please!

I've got no recruitment story here - so far, it's been deleted, not that there's anything wrong with that. Recruitment just started back up today so my source there is no good for a little while. One of the chapters I work with starts today and there's nothing there yet. Recruitment at my new grad school starts this weekend but I don't have any ties here so it's more of a relief that I'm not involved b/c I should be doing school work.

Reruns are still on TV. I'm dying my hair to treat myself and satisfy boredom on a Friday night.

I may just have to post my retro-recruitment thread at UIUC just to take care of my own excitement.

I will - but during the "slow season" (Nov/Dec) - before I moved I was at my parents house and found my rush guide with all my notes. It was hilarious. I'm going back to visit soon and I'll pick it up then.

I just moved and started grad school after 7 years in the working world to make a career change so I'm still adjusting and *need* to be doing school at the moment. (which is why I'm here, clearly )

My recruitment thread is full of DRA-MA so it will be long and it's a better ending than I could have hoped (11 years later) so I want to do it justice.

hey, what if those alums who have hijacked this thread from its original purpose, start their own thread to continue their conversations and we can let this thread get back to recruitment?

I don't think the OP has any intention of posting further experiences in this thread, at least not until bid day. Sorry, I think that was my fault.

If you'd like to get back to U of I, though, I will say this:

NPC groups at U of I are all great. Even a smaller chapter has over 100 women. There are very cute girls and fat girls in every one. There are smart girls and party girls and athletes and a variety of majors in every one. I know I am preaching to the choir, here, but I have seen one good pledge class come in and turn a chapter around. I won't cite examples here, but I'd be happy to do so via PM.

Also, most women have friends in all sorts of chapters. Off of the top of my head, I could think of women in my pledge class who lived with women from at least five other chapters once they moved out of the house. I can think of women who dated guys in all sorts of fraternities, as well.

I won't pretend there are not tiers, but anyone with an ounce of maturity should be able to get over it, and have a great experience in any group.

I tend to think we're talking to each other because their isn't any recruitment being posted, but I'll be happy to just watch as well.

Interestingly enough, I first thought you were a member of my chapter who was got her third choice, cried a lot, then went on to be a stellar member, but you have posted more stuff that made me realize I was wrong. I guess that means it happens more often than I thought.

Would love to hear your story, though!
