Also, the article you posted sounds very similar to what happened to my friend from college when we were at a party our freshman year. It was just the two of us....one second she was fine drinking a beer and socializing, the next she was stumbling drunk (or at least I thought she was drunk). It turns out she was given ghb by one of the hosts of the party. She became violently ill almost instantly and we took her to the hospital where she was tested (I'm not sure if it was a blood or urine test) and came back positive for ghb. The last thing she remembered was one of the guys giving her a shot of some kind.
