I'm a little pissed. Apparently a few of the games, including the one on Saturday for Michigan, are going to be broadcast on this Big 10 network. WTF. Pretty much NO ONE has this network.

LSU defense looks good as always. Offense wasn't fantastic, but it'll get better.
I feel bad for MSU's D because they really had to take the loss created by the offense.
I think LSU will be good and be right in the SEC championship mix, but I think they'll have a tough time making it into the BCS championship game (same goes for all the SEC teams this year).

I knew the list of people who have this network was exclusive when the sideline reporter said my name during a report.
Seriously though, F'ing Michigan, way to go, blowing the season on the first day.

I agree, sort of, with you.
Was at the Blood bank where there are no TV's so missed the game.
I read this:
http://www.mgoblue.com/document_disp...ument_id=25213
and still do not understand what happened.
All one can say is "On any giving day..........."

The sad part of it is.... most of us here in Michigan didn't get to see the game. And I really feel sorry for the Appalachian State fans who had their biggest win ever yet didn't have a chance to see it live. $$$$ the big ten network. My alma mater has won four of the last five national titles in D-II football..... does that mean they could beat Michigan too?

W.T.F.
BTN a jinx? Lol maybe. The game was stupid. Oh I loved the play they missed because the fucking camera was showing the crowd. Nice job assholes.
They said your name? Lol!

Well, I know the producer and his daughter goes to Michigan. Maybe that's who you were seeing. His son goes to Penn State, so maybe you can miss a play there, too.
Kidding.
He's actually a great producer. I used to do NBC NFL football with him. He was Executive Producer of CBS Sports and ran TV production for the Atlanta Olympic games. I don't know who is directing the games, but it was more likely his fault if a play was missed.
Now,
The Big Ten Network is the second of many of its type (they act like the first, but it ain't true) that will be springing up -- I work for the first which covers the Mountain West Conference. We just passed our first anniversary yesterday.
The SEC will probably be next, followed by a lot of others.
The conferences want to control their own destiny in terms of how many games are televised, and what time they're played.
In terms of carriage, we have the same problem as BTN, but in reverse. We are on cable in all of our markets, but don't have a national satellite deal. BTN has the satellite carriage, but very few cable deals.
The truth is that you (global you) probably have more power in this than we do. Call your cable company or satellite provider and request (OK, demand) that they carry our networks instead of 58 alpha numeric channels or shopping services.
Also, just in case you were too young or have very short memories, remember that ESPN and the FSN regionals all had the same problems when they launched. Cable and Satellite systems deal with supply and demand. You demand, and sooner or later they'll supply.
Finally, my youngest sister-in-law in Detroit and her son in Texas are undoubtedly in mourning tonight after the Michigan debacle.
I hope Ann Arbor survives the night without being burned to the ground.

Versus (whatever that is) has the Badger game on for me tonight - I don't really understand why but I am not going to question it.

Hope you found the game. Versus is a national cable network. It used to be called The Outdoor Life Network, but changed it's name a few months ago.
We aren't affilliated with them exactly, but their master control point is in the same building we are.
We originated a short halftime report for the game (UNLV is one of our Mountain West schools), which must have been a great one from what I heard.
The cable/satellite carriage of these game is likely to get worse before it gets better. Fans really do need to gang up on their cable/satellite providers because the conferences are going ahead with more of them.

I did get the game, it was great to watch and I was happy I got it. I think I've only gotten four Badger games since I moved out of Wisconsin. It was nice to be able to actually see the game instead of sitting on my deck with an AM radio.

You'll be able to see a lot more if you subscribe to one of the satellite services and Big Ten Network or get your local cable company to pick up the network.
(Although last night's game was on Versus because of our deal with the Mountain West Conference, so, you're welcome)
You'll also see a lot more Wisconsin basketball games and some of what they're now calling the "Olympic sports."
It's going to be good for some and bad for others until this thing gets sorted out.
