I realize this is off-topic of the OP, but I can definitely relate to you, UTKALUM. In about a week I will be heavily involved in my chapter's Recruitment as an adviser - I will probably end up sleeping there the entire time as I will be putting in such long hours. My husband is not too happy about that. Anyway, kudos to you for all the hard work.
And back to the OP - hope another update comes quickly, I want to hear how Preference went!

Anxiously awaiting news from Bid Day at 1:30 today.
Saw a previous post which mentioned release numbers were higher than in the past. Can someone explain?

I think she meant that the number of women that could not be invited to the next round of parties was higher than in previous years. This means that at each MS session they had to "cut" more PNMs than they were used to doing.

Could be just "tent talk", but word was that one of chapters cut around 70% of the PNMs after round 1. Does that seem possible?

Someone else will have to speak to that. I was involved in recruitment when it was still Rush, and we had standard cuts each day that never equaled 70%. It may be possible if a chapter has really good recruitment numbers for past years, but it sounds a little too excessive!

I would think that would be possible. The idea with certain groups cutting lots of PNMs early is so they have time to explore more realistic options rather than get their hearts set on a group that wouldn't pledge them.

I have a neighbor who is an adviser to a chapter other than mine and they had to release around 55% and we had to release 50% after open house and we both have high return rates so I don't know how accurate 70% was.
