" Alpha Kappa Alpha is very concerned about the miscarriage of justice being carried out in Jena , Louisiana against six African American males. We agree that the events that culminated in the arrest of these young men appear to be racist-inspired. In this day and age, this is unacceptable. One of the young men -- Marcus Jones -- has already been convicted by an all-white jury of two felonies and faces a lengthy jail sentence. The others are awaiting their day in the court and the outlook for a fair trial is unlikely. This represents a gloomy future for these young men, who range in age from 15-18.
