My daughter went through rush in 2000 at TAMU. I remember bid day as though it was yesterday. The thrill and happiness in her voice made me cry.
Enjoy the day and your daughter's excitement. My daughter is proud to be an AggieAXO.

ETA: I just received some good news, too. I had been wanting to share this with you all sooner, but I decided not to say ONE WORD, just to be on the safe said... until after recruitment is over. A high school friend of mine decided to go to Auburn, and she went through recruitment this past week. I was so nervous for her because obviously she's not from the south, she has no ties to Greek life, etc. Anyway, she just told me that she's going to be in Gamma Phi Beta! Yayyy! I'm so glad everything worked well for her. I didn't ask for too many details about the week since she wanted to go shopping and make a few more exciting phone calls. But I assume that she already knows this because she only went to one pref party? And she obviously did not receive a phone call this morning. Yay! Now I just have to wait for one more high school friend's recruitment to be over with that I'm equally as nervous for. Again, I won't give you any details about it until hers is over too. I hope hers ends up well too!
You are correct; if your friend already knows where she is going she must have preffed only one house and if she didn't get the dreaded phone call this morning, she knows she's getting a bid to that house.

Congratulations to your friend! 30 more minutes for the rest of us to wait... We're almost there!

OR it means she suicided one house on her bid card. Congratulations to your new Gamma Phi Beta friend!

A Quick Auburn Story

While we're all waiting for the next 30 minutes, I thought I'd share this...

I met two girls at a wedding this summer who were cousins of the groom and sisters of each other. Both were in the same sorority at Auburn. I started talking to the oldest one -- she's a Senior this year. I asked about sororities and she said something like, "Yes, I'm an XYZ, but you know, as a senior I really won't be very involved. My sister is a sophomore, so she's really into it."

WELL...she then got my response of "this is for a lifetime, etc!!!"

They were both adorable.

OK AuburnMom...back to the wait!

Please AuburnMom, we need to know where your daughter is going! Or at least I do, it's nearly 2 am in India and I cannot sleep until I know, not this close to the finish.

ETA: The list is not up yet on the NPC site.

Sorry for the delay, I had to call Kate’s father, Kate’s grandma, Kate’s sister, etc,

So, at 3:07pm the cell phone rings!........

There is so much screaming going on in the background I cannot hear anything. After two more attempts at contacting her via cell phone. I receive a text message from Kate.

It reads…….

I am one of the newest citizens of Ireland!

Now, I know I owe you all more of this story then that and I will give it to you later tonight, but, as luck would have it, Kate's sister has a swim meet at 4pm and I have to leave my computer to take her to it. I thought I would at least give you this much so you wouldn't have to wait until tonight to hear the news (and because I thought you all might kill me if I didn't tell you anything until tonight!).

Full story coming later tonight! Just know Kate is happy and is having a good time hanging out in Ireland at this time…..
