About 5 years ago, there was a rumor going around Auburn that Britney Spears was going to be attending Auburn and rushing. Many students swore to me that it was the truth. Can you imagine trying to conduct rush while Britney was in the room?

Aside from the celebrity factor, who would want Britney-ilk in their chapter????

Five years ago, I don't think we knew what we know now. Sure, she was tacky, but she didn't seem loose and crazy.

Yeah, as far as I can recall, she was still acting decent and her music was popular. Now I am quite content that she doesn't wear the arrow!

I had totally forgotten about that!!! Yes, that rumor was rampant. So much so, that everyone was beginning to wonder if it was the truth. Thanks for that funny memory!!

Hilarious--the same rumor was circulating in the Northeast about UMass in the spring/summer of 2000. It made no sense since, as far as I know, Britney has zero connections to the area and UMass isn't that much of a destination, but there certainly were some people I knew who were convinced!
