Stuff I heard this weekend (came from having a family gathering and asking some of the young kids <teens to 20s> this question....)
- that you can use a comb to get rid of hickys
- you can't get herpes from kissing
- you can reuse a condom if you wash it out and reroll it (I fell off my chair when I heard that)
- spermicide can give you yeast infections
- 'fingerpopping' can take your virginity......
....from the mouth of kids.....

I don't know about yeast infections, but I am actually allergic to nonoxynol-9 (the spermicidal lubricant used on some condoms) and anytime I've had a partner use one of those condoms, I've gotten a urinary tract infection. This has happened to my sister (biological) as well, and she is also allergic.

Anatomical virginity--I would say yes. Actual, like for real "I've had sex" virginity--I don't think so.

The vagina is self cleaning, but if the balance is too off, you will get an infection.

That is true. But, often times, the body will return the balance to normal and the yeast infection will clear up before you even knew you had one. The horomones released during the differnt stages of the cycle often counter act the imbalance.
At least....that's what my doctor told me.

Okay my girl is a nurse and I nearly died when she told me someone said "I'm still a virgin because I didn't move." Mind you that penetration did occur.
I never wanted to laugh so much in my life.

Typically, when a woman is not taking care of herself from nutrition to water intake, hormones will try to balance the flora in the vagina, but are unable to do it effectively causing an overgrowth of some microorganisms. Namely Candida spp. and some bacteria, such as Haemophilus spp., Bacillus spp. and a few others.
When the woman has other issues like an STI, it makes the problem worse. Namely, Chlamydia, HPV, HSV and HIV infections.
So please! If a physician gives you treatment for yeast infection, please take it and follow through with the regimen. Because it is thought in the field that massive infection of outgrowths is the gateway to worse vaginal infections and very bad diseases, such a Vaginitis, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, and all lead to infertility...
Your physician recommended not douching because you do not want ruin the balance of your normal vaginal flora. I don't do it, so I do not know the latest research on that subject. But that information your physician has is at least 20 years old and I am unsure what the relevancy is regard it... What I mean is what does Massingill have to say about it?

Monet,
Are you a doctor or nurse?? Very detailed and thanks for the info!! I do appreciate it.
I'm sure all the men on here wanted such a detailed account of vaginal chemicals.

Monet's a microbionuclearphysiogenonanologist.
Actually, I forgot exactly what she does - something medical/bio, and she has at least one PhD.
