Well, sort of related:
1. I heard someone say that if you eat a ton of lemons, it will cause your period to stop for a month (and she was planning to do this in order to not have her period while on her honeymoon)...(what a dummy!).
2. I heard someone else say that if you drink lots of orange juice, it will get your period to stop, mid-week even! 
3. The same person said that if you want to go swimming while you're on your period, you should take a very cold shower first, then you'll be good to go for at least 3-4 hours in the pool....terrible.
But the WORST sex advice I ever got was from my mom, who said:
"Don't go around kissing boys, because the next thing you know you'll be pregnant!"
She left out how pregnancy actually occurs, so you can imagine that at age 10 I was terrified of any boys trying to kiss me, even on the cheek!! LOL!

It amazes me how clueless some of my friends are.. people who have been sexually active for atleast 5 years and yet they're in the dark about so much.
My favorite..
"we have THREE holes?! noo.. you get your period and pee from the same one!!"
Then of course there are several friends who are advocates of 'pulling out' (one got pregnant and still insisted that pulling out really does work).

Well, "Our Bodies Ourselves" states that one could get pregnant during the crimson wave... But, usually that is a young little chickadee who does not have heavy periods and wears lightday pantiliners during her entire period...
For us older women who are fighting uterine issues and crazy cramping along with having to wear super overnights in the daytime because the soiling is so bad for our entire period, well... No, we probably will NEVER get pregnant during our menses.
And ovulation changes over age. Ovulation is not what it is when your a teeny bopper versus 40 something. The "goo" is just a different consistency...
Dumbest comments about sex?
How come SOME young 20-something men think that it is okay NOT to wear condoms to protect their partner from STI's? HIV is NOT funny...

Stuff I heard this weekend (came from having a family gathering and asking some of the young kids <teens to 20s> this question....)
- that you can use a comb to get rid of hickys
- you can't get herpes from kissing
- you can reuse a condom if you wash it out and reroll it (I fell off my chair when I heard that)
- spermicide can give you yeast infections
- 'fingerpopping' can take your virginity......
....from the mouth of kids.....

I don't know about yeast infections, but I am actually allergic to nonoxynol-9 (the spermicidal lubricant used on some condoms) and anytime I've had a partner use one of those condoms, I've gotten a urinary tract infection. This has happened to my sister (biological) as well, and she is also allergic.

you can't get pregnant the first time you have sex
you can't get pregnant if you jump and/or douche after sex
and my favorite: if you use a tampon, you are not a virgin.
DS, the fourth one is true for some women.
