Let's make a pact:
In the future, even if we suspect something is unrealistic and snobby and/or so closely aligned with young adult literature from the 1980s that we think it might be fictional, if it is also highly entertaining as I think this one was, let's keep our public comments to ourselves until the whole thing is posted.
It's too easy to punish us by depriving us of ever knowing what the "other thing" really was or what one wears to later parties if you wear a pink beaded dress with matching pantyhose to first round. And let me tell you, I really want to know.

Just speculation on the "other thing", since I don't see her finishing her thread...Could "recruitments" sister have actually cut the legacy chapter but didn't know how to tell her overbearing mother?

And for those of us who didn't think it was highly entertaining? It's all subjective really. I'll be honest, I'm still not buying something here. If she lurks because she knows that people here are snarky, why would she not expect it later? A few things aren't adding up right... perhaps the OP's not been explaining herself well, but my BS'o'meter is still ringing.

Well, I guess you have to weigh calling them like you see them in the moment against the possibility that you'll kill the fun for people who are enjoying it.
Personally, if I don't find a thread, particularly recruitment stories, interesting or enjoyable, I just quit reading it. I agree in this case, the thread is kind of over-the-top in a way that begs for a response, but I'd rather let the teller complete the saga, and then critique as you must.

I'm completely with Drolefille on this one. Recruitment works in the editing/publishing world. Could this be her first little foray into fiction? Maybe she's tired of editing others' stories and wants someone else to edit hers.
Doesn't her twin Syd work at the same publishing firm she does? Could life get anymore perfect??!! Please tell me what universe/dimension you live in so I can join you!
