I saw ECW...that's what he said. WWE.com is not mentioning it because a)they don't want that kind of publicity and b)to respect the family.
ETA: I just re-checked their site, and they put up a CYA timeline - telling everyone what info they had when, so that people realized that the decision was made before they had many facts.
