Your first few posts on this board were in threads in which you identified yourself as a founder for a new sorority. That breeds curiosity and targets you for both encouragement and questions.
Yes, I "raised my hand", and I did expect curiosity and questions, and maybe even to be challenged. I even expected some hostility. But I didn't expect (and didn't deserve) the level of hostility that was shown to me, whose roots - it has been acknowledged - lie in events that happened before I came to GC. It was like I walked into a room, said "hi", and was immediately ganged.

That is so not true, although I understand it is your perception. If you are that sensitive then that is a whole 'nother conversation. And at some point you will need to acknowledge your part in all of this. Yes, posts happened before and your posts were eerily similar. Otherwise the reactions would not have occured. And still I repeat, you even went after folx who were trying to be encouraging.

You and your fellow GC'ers are all perfect angels, blameless and without spot. I, the new girl, am the spawn of satan and fully to blame for every negative encounter I've had on GC. It is all my fault that people I didn't know existed came on GC, not long before me, and raised hell. I deserved to be raked over the coals and disrespected because of what these phantoms did before I got here. I am also hypersensitive and prone to blacking out and losing my memory. Some kind of way, my cognitive abilities have been lost, also. I am FUBAR.

That was a joke.

Anyhoo, Ladygreek, you and I are going to have to agree to disagree on this one and keep it moving. Have a great evening.

Yanno, you really have a lot to learn about the real world and taking responsibility for your actions (eventhough I assume you are 24 or over, you have a long ways to go still in adulthood.) I never said everyone else was blameless, and that was pointed out by Chaos. But I did ask you to own up to your part in all of this and all you could do was come back with sarcasm.

Young lady, I do wish you the best, and hope that you have at least learned something from this experience. You have a good evening, too.

No one raked you over anything, believe me, I have seen what that looks like. And if you step back for a minute and do some reading of older threads and even some recent ones, you will see what that really looks like too.

I guess that is why most old school folk advise most new school folk to pause and get acclimated before jumping into the fray.

Don't try to paint yourself as a victim here; that's disingenuous. If you continue to do that, it will be difficult to take anything else that you have to say seriously.

I'm not a victim. But, I'm not a villain either. As far as becoming acclimated before jumping in. Why is that? Is my opinion less valid than anyone else's simply because my org is new or I'm a newbie to GC?

No, but if you looked around before you started posting you might see the conversations that have been had already, understand the topics that have been hashed and rehashed, and perhaps make contributions that are more insightful because of that knowledge.
You might see that despite the fact that you feel like you are being attacked, that is actually not the case. When folk attack on GC, it is much less pretty. Like I said, I have been here seven years, and I have seen it too often before.
You might gain some perspective.

I guess that the same things might be said about a new org. Perspective is priceless.

I don't have a problem taking responsibility for my actions, but I am not going to let you or anyone else make me the scapegoat for everything negative that's happened to me on here, and that's what you want me to do. You want a clean cut admission that you're completely right and I'm completely wrong, and that will never happen. I'm not totally innocent in this, but neither are you - and I'm not going to say otherwise. Why don't you own up to your part in this? You got in some pretty good insults and condescending comments yourself. Anyway, whatever the cost is for that decision, I will pay it. So, if refusing to take ALL the blame makes me immature in your eyes, so be it. I can live with that.

Wow, you really took this to all new levels. Reading and comprehending is fundamental as is self-esteem and following your beliefs in a positive manner.

And I am glad you can live with being immature. (Now that is intended to be an insult.)

I don't want to argue, either. I tried to end our whole dialogue on this topic by saying let's agree to disagree and move on. But, you just won't let it go. You keep posting to me. And you're STILL slinging insults. Jesus Christ!

Good-BYE.

I'm a little late to this party so forgive me if this point has already been made a zillion times.

The thing that bugs me about some (not all) new GLOs is that it's not so much about promoting themselves as it is about promoting themselves based antagonizing the established orgs.

Some newer orgs need a lesson in positive promotion. Promote based on your strengths, not the perceived "weaknesses" of other orgs.

You should talk about how great you are because you do _______. Not how you are great because you do ________ unlike AKA & DST who do not.

See the difference?

Yes, I see the difference. But, I did NOT approach GC like that.

"Some" hostility is subjective. I think you've only been given "some."

But the "some" that I've been given has been very intense, and unnecessarily so.

Sidenote: Why are other people answering a question that I asked you? I didn't ask them, so I'm going to stop responding to their answers to the question.
