Where at in Texas are you looking?

I will be starting my first year of teaching something life science this fall. They still have yet to tell me what exactly I'll be teaching though!

Good luck to both of you! This past year was simultaneously the best and most stressful year of my life.

I didn't know what I'd specifically be teaching until 2 days before school started. What a fabulous way to start the year! I survived and you will, too.

Part of me kind of misses doing the media relations stuff. It sounds like you do it on a higher level than I did (I did it for a legal non-profit); sometimes it drove me crazy, but it was fun.

I like it sometimes. It makes me sad when I read the articles reporters have written about us because it usually just makes me think about how I would have written it differently. After my life settles down a little bit (getting married in a month), I'm going to start pursuing reporting jobs.

That's funny, I actually used to feel the same way. I thought it helped out a bit to have a journalism background, because when you were trying to pitch things to outlets, you can at least show that you have an understanding of their job and daily demands.

I tried going back to the reporting thing briefly, but I found that I didn't love it as much as I did when I was writing professionally in high school and at the beginning of college (sports and politics reporter for a couple of local papers).

I joke that my career has slowly gotten more cynical, from reporter, to media relations, and now law school...

Oh, and congrats on the upcoming wedding.

Just graduated and I'm working with a lobbying firm in DC. And I'm tutoring with Kaplan for the SATs and GREs on the side so that I can put my degree to good use and make some extra cash to help pay off my student loans ASAP!
