A quick way to make your point and something you can use in the future is just to give a bunch of sorority girls who are your friends t-shirts that say I heart (fraternity name), like the I heart NY shirts. It gets your name out there, and is pretty noticeable.

Hey, this can go both ways.
I have seen:
"If I was a Guy (front), I'd Rush Theta Chi (back)"
Also:
"A Delta Zeta(Letters), Thinks I'm Hot(smaller font)"
- had hot guys wear them the term before recruitment.
Here may be one:
"Be my Crush(front), Go Rush!(back)"

This is pretty popular on my campus. Most fraternities create t-shirts for their female friends to wear to class since our frat rush is usually the second week of school.
I've seen all variations of the "I (heart)" but one of the cutest shirts I've ever seen was produced by one of the smaller fraternities on campus. Tau Kappa Epsilon created pale blue baby t's with the wording "Urban is my homebody" and Urban Meyer's likeness on the front holding a sign saying "TKE". These were made the first year Urban Meyer came to UF and with all the hyper surrounding our new coach, caused people to look twice. They didn't scream Rush TKE or anything but they were cute and fun and I snagged one from a brother I'd gone to high school with. Any association you could make to what's causing a buzz on campus seems like a good idea.
One suggestion I'd have for you is to make well-fitting shirts girls are likely to wear, especially something they can make look cute. One of my favorite fraternities caught on to this and buys the Hollister type sheer t-s or tank tops for the girls.
All in all, I think its a good marketing tool. It may demonstrate the more shallow side of GLO's but rush is just a cutthroat event.

the one in the middle with the heart, and the one at the end with the "E". the others would get kicked out for eating crackers.

This is pretty popular at my school. Several fraternities drop off fraternity rush t-shirts at select sorority houses (the same as the ones the guys get, just in smaller sizes) and girls usually wear them to week of fraternity rush. The other way to get them is to ask a guy friend to snag one for you. Usually only the "pretty" houses get them.
Sororities are also invited by the fraternities to hang out at the house during rush. Basically the girls stand outside on the porches so they're the first thing the rushees see, and they get the impression "Wow, these guys hang out with hot girls all the time!" In addition to banners on their houses, the guys advertise rush in the school paper with things like "Join us from 6-8 with the beautiful ladies of ABC".
