Now if it was Joan Schmoe in the exact same situation....she would have been put in with the general population ...no questions asked.

Let me preface this by saying that I despise Paris Hilton and think that the world would probably be a better place if she had never existed.
That said...Joan Schmoe wouldn't likely be as big of a target in the general population as Paris Hilton would be. I could see why her presence in the general population would cause enough of a ruckus as to make things difficult for the jail staff. So, in that regard, I don't necessarily think its a bad thing to separate her from the general population. Not to cut her a break by any means (she doesn't deserve one), but minimize the chaos in the jail.

Money talks...now...when Lil' Kim (rightfully so BTW) went to jail...she was in the general population and in for a much longer period.
Paris was just gonna leave long enuff for maybe long enough for kids to enjoy summer break...but as someone alluded earlier....you can get urself to go to a party...but u too distraught to go to court and jail....chick please....hehehe

Joe schmoe probably wouldn't have gone to jail. Just got a longer suspended license or even pled down to a lesser charge.

ITA. She isn't worth the gas it would take to run her over. But I do think in the interest of keeping some measure of 'peace' they almost would have to put her in isolation. It's a shame, though, becasue she could use a good butt whooping. She is celeb-trash, plain and simple.

I think what we're all ignoring here is that anyone can ask to be taken out of the general population. I was reading a story about Richard Hatch going to jail, and at first, they weren't going to seperate him, but he requested it. The story mentioned that anyone can be seperated for any reason. Of course, many times, that includes solitary.

Did you just read this or have you any first hand experience?
The inmate does not dictate in the jail system, the jailers do.
