Oh no. Now I will never be a Delta. I was just getting ready to attend an informational too. Now I will never have my dream of getting to be a member of a sorority in each council. Alas. Woe is me.
I'm not trying to change your opinion or make you seek my approval, that's never what this was about. I'm sorry that I brought it up in a thread where you were the only one who expressed that you would not vote for a white person, I tried to make it clear that it was not about YOU, but about the view in general as held by multiple NPHC members and expressed by them publicly.

First I don't think I was the only one, reread. Second the way you can't leave this thread sounds like you have something vested in NPHC intake. If you feel you are a champion of the people, take on a more important and worthy cause.

I see your point.
There are inequalities above and beyond Greekdom. That much is obvious.
Not to take anything from Drolefile overall, but I don't really see her in threads that discuss more general inequalities. Those threads tend to quickly be labeled dead horses or taboo topics by many white GCers. Yet, Drolefile's here to discuss what she perceives to be inequality during some intake processes. As if this is the vessel through which she's attacking a larger phenomenon.

Actually, it just comes up on the New Posts list when I check it, and I see if someone's replied to me. I'm not really championing anything and I'm not that invested. I have a lot of free time as a grad school student just starting a semester. Critcizing how much time I spend replying is silly and could just as easily be asked of you. I'm on GC a lot, enough said.

Nope, I'm not. But as people keep replying, they often take my words and misapply them. I'd be thrilled if people took what I actually said and disagreed and discussed, but instead it becomes "everyone has biases" which is far from the point I was making.

I'm truly not trying to use this one issue to make a bigger point. This discussion started with me stating how I could see a girl with internal issues feel excluded from the NPHC because she's not "black enough" when members say they won't vote for white people out of hand. Quite simply I don't like the idea.
As for other threads, sometimes I don't see them as I often don't click on threads outside of the the major forums or in my sorority's forum, so sometimes if they're in the D9 forum, I don't come across them. And a lot of times, I feel like the right thing's are being said already. But sometimes I just watch and learn. There are a lot more educated people in the subject of racism and inequality than me. And sometimes it devolves into a fight between a few members and I stop watching for a while. (Almost happened with this thread and macallan's entrance and comments)
I felt like I had a point to bring up here, and I did. And I appreciate the discussion I've gotten from the majority of those who've replied.

Cool.
Some of your posts read like you're championing some grand cause. So I'm just wondering what you think the grand cause really is.

I don't really mean to But if I had to pick one it would be that all people get judged, evaluated, etc. for everything they do, as individuals whether it's a mortgage, an apartment, sorority membership, or shopping in a store. Seeing it regarded as ok on a microlevel implies that it's ok on the macrolevel or that it's some sort of tit for tat thing.
That said, I never really tried to bring this discussion up the macrolevel, but went with it when other posters did to some extent.

Good because whites' not getting a vote doesn't matter at the macro level.
