I think it's a good idea to have your Family Day on a day when your sorority is doing something that parents would like to attend. We had our Family Day on the day of the big Greek Sing/Songfest competition in April.
We had the parents come over at noon for house tours and lunch (spaghetti and salad). We had the house decorated with pictures of all of the events from the year. They got to see our slideshow from recruitment too.
After they've eaten and seen everything (around 2:00), we give each of the parents/family a ticket to the competition & a Family Day shirt (which each girl buys for her family members).
Once they have tickets, we let them leave the house and spend time with their daughters off campus. Then everyone meets up at the house at 6:30 to go over and cheer us on at Songfest!
