You'll be sorry you didn't get the Graflex I posted above. The little thing that you hold the gunpower in to make a flash is on sale this month...
Seriously, most of the digital cameras I've seen work pretty well.
We have a Cannon A630 now and it's pretty good.
We had a Sony in the past and were pleased with it as well.
Good luck with the new toy -- I'm sure it will be just fine.
