ETA: CNN, FOX and MSNBC all have the same picture now.... so it's not just FOX

Just to ask, what was the pic?

Policeman/rescuers carrying students out of the building. Two of the kids were probably identifiable by family but their condition was difficult to ascertain (whether conscious or not, alive or not, etc).
Shortly after that, Fox switched to a picture of a young man, definitely identifiable by family, who had blood coming out of a wound near his hip area.. quite gruesome.

Yea, my brothers girlfriend is a Pi Phi at VTech and her best friend got shot in French class I think. Apparently the dude came in shot the professor point blank, and then started firing into the students.
She was shot in the chest, but apparently is ok.

OMG! That's horrible. Have you heard about any updates on her? Things like this make me sick.

I emailed Fox and told them how incredibly inappropriate that was. Not that it made a shred of difference, but at least I notified someone (probably their junk folder ).

I also emailed them about the tastelessness of the photo.

As a person of Korean descent (my mom's from South Korea...my dad's a good old cracker ) I can't imagine what the backlash will be towards the Korean community...especially in the DC area where there's such a high concentration of Koreans. I have a feeling that my cousin knows the shooter as she was friends with most Koreans at VT from the DC area..I'm not ready to ask her yet though.

That young man is alive and through the luck of the draw, he was an Eagle Scout who knew how to stop the blood flow as he got hit in the main artery. He may or may not have lost his leg but he did survive. I eagerly await his release and statement to the press. That kid is amazing. Can any fraternity claim him?

I did hear about him. He used an electrical cord as a tourniquet didn't he?

I heard that in one report and electrical tape in another. Regardless, this is a shining start in this story. Story of survival - like this show on cable (something like) I should not have lived. This is a true miracle that of all the people to get shot in the femeral (Sp?) artery, it was an eagle scout who knew how to save his own life. I don't mean to be snarky when I say this but I can smell a book deal on this one.

I really don't think they need to be showing clips from this video on tv.
