30 Killed in Shootings at Virginia Tech
 

BLACKSBURG, Va. - One person was killed and seven or eight more were shot in a dorm and in a classroom on the Virginia Tech campus Monday before police arrested a suspected gunman, officials told The Associated Press.

They're now saying up to 20 dead plus possibly a gunman.

Sometimes I wonder if these psychos are into playing online role-playing games. What else could possess someone to go shooting up a campus?

I want to know how the gunman it from West Ambler Johnston, across the drillfield, and into Norris Hall. That's a pretty long distance. IMO, this was thoroughly planned. Then again, who would commit such a crime without thinking it through?

My hubby went to VT. How horribly sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and students.

How completely horrifying! I agree with VAgirl18 - that's a long way to go without some serious thought.

I do think those role playing games don't help stop this type of situations at all!

ABC is reporting 25 dead

They have shut down all Cell towers in the area. One of my coworkers is a Pike on campus so IM is his only form of communication he has right now.

The 2nd shooting was over 2 hours later than the first.

BTW compare Fox News and CNN's front pages...

This is so sad. I cannot believe someone would be sick enough to do this. Everyone at Virginia Tech is in my prayers and thoughts.

How tragic. My thoughts and prayers are certainly with everybody affected by this, and with our newest chapter of sisters.

I too flipped from CNN to FOX and was shocked by the insensitivity of that front picture on FOX. I can't imagine being a parent, looking at that picture and realizing that one of those kids was my son or daughter. I understand that this is big news, but they need to show some sense of decency here.

ETA: CNN, FOX and MSNBC all have the same picture now.... so it's not just FOX
