Sorors and Friends,
first let me say i love this page. it's such a blessing. i'm sending out prayers to those in need.
i'm here to ask you all to pray for my fiance' David McMullen's mother, Mary McMullen. she passed away on March 13th after a lengthy battle with cancer. he and his family are trying to be brave at such a tough time and any kind thoughts sent their way would be most appreciated.
thank you for reading.

Soror, I will pray for him, his family and you also, as one of his main supporters. I went through a similar situation as the main supporter for someone who lost his mother last summer so feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss. It can be very taxing on you as a supporter while also grieving yourself as well so that's why I said that I would pray for you as well.

WenD08,
You, your future husband and your soon to be in-law family should rejoice in knowing that your mother-in-law did not fall victim to cancer, but rather, she gained glory. Many of us here on GC can understand the collage of emotions that you all are feeling right now. I too lost my mom to cancer last March, March 14th to be exact, and there is no sense of pain, like that , than having to release your parent(s), or any loved one for that matter, to Heaven.
As you already know to be, you coupled with his belief and faith, are David's crutch. Remind him that it is now his job to insure that moms didn't go without having left behind an incredible legacy for him and the rest of the family to hold high. Continue to strengthen him, especially during what can sometimes be moments when the dark cold recesses of the emotional maze that he's traversing, seems unsurmountable. You all are to find peace in Mother Mary's homegoing. She is surrounded by the only true eternal love that last, and she is now healed.

Soror Summerchild and 7thSonofOsiris,
thank you all for your lovely words. i'm about to cry myself! i feel really good in knowing that i knew her and that she was happy for us. also knowing that after her struggle that she is at peace helps a lot.

Soror WenD08, try to take comfort in that. Also, you will be able to tell your children (if you decide to have children) about their Grandmother from a firsthand perspective. I will continue to pray for you and your fiance and the family.

Yep, I'm a Daddy's Girl
My dad has kidney failure which set off some other illnesses. He has been hospitalized for the past week. Please pray for his healing, strength, and recovery. Thanks!

I will definitely keep you lifted. My father also went through this, and like you I am a daddy's girl. I understand about the set off of other illnesses and constant trips to the hospital. His kidney failure was actually due to his diabetes, so it was trying for us. You be sure to stay strong for him and I will keep you lifted.
My prayers go out to everyone. God remains in control.

I'm a Daddy's Girl myself, so I can relate to how you feel about your father. I am praying for you and your father. Hold to God's unchanging hand.

I ask that who ever will pray for my family as we celebrate Denita's life and cope with her untimely death one year later...

Denita interned for a local paper so there is an article on www.Charlotte.com about this already...hopefully someone will be held accountable for this senseless loss...

It's me...
Sorors and GC friends,
Now it's me standing in the need of prayer...
The matriarch of my paternal family is in the hospital. She is 90ish. It is a scare, but through talking to quite of few PCPs, I am surely comforted and blessed to know that God says she is not finished, yet...
She worked closely with my grandfather who was the president of Bethune-Cookman for 28 years. Later on, she changed wayward elementary kids lives that are still remembered as they turn 50 years old. She is an awesome, God-fearing woman, whose wisdom extends across the Universe and into the Heavens.
I wish my grandmother was EVERYONE'S grandmother and I am here to share her livelihood with you all!
Stay blessed.

Soror,
I am really sorry to hear this. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I will be calling your aunt and your cousin tonight.
I will be praying.
