Hmm...I was in Vegas eating at a Denny's once and the server thought I was Mexican.
I'm Filipino-Japanese, but because I'm also Hawaiian and I frequent the beach, I'm quite tan. My Filipino mother, however, is very fair-skinned.
Several GC newbies have in the past, left posts that implied that I was a man. I suppose if you weren't here for my original screenname or haven't bothered to read any of my posts, I suppose I can see how people would think that way.
Usually the cultural lessons are saved for those who think it's okay to have an Island-themed social/rush event with Hawaiian punch and plastic leis and slap the "luau" label on it. Oh, and if you want to really know what happened and how the American government stole Hawai`i from the
kanaka maoli, feel free to ask me because you won't find that in your history books.
